I have worked many years with children as well as seniors in memory care. Many activities you use with preschoolers are also appropriate for seniors.
I am sure you will find activities which will be enjoyed by all.
If you are looking for an amazing sensory activity for you sensory bin, you want to try artificial snow. It feels like the real thing, depending on how much conditioner you use it sticks together well, so building a small snowman is fun, and smells great too.
It is simple to make:
6 cups of baking soda 1 cup of hair conditioner
Mix it together and then play.
I added to the sensor bin some felt cut into neck scarves; beads for eyes and the mouth; twigs for arms; and orange pieces of pipe cleaner for the mouth.
You may need to add a bit more conditioner to make your snow stick a bit together.
To freshen your snow between different kid's play, take a fork to stir it up. More conditioner may be needed to freshen it up.
