Supplies Needed:
13”X13” Cardboard square
36+ Dixie Cups
Talk to the kids about how much more a group of people can accomplish, rather than one person trying to do the job on their own. Demonstrate how strong one papercup is on their own. (Crush the papercup in your hands. Have a child step on a papercup. Ask the class, “What happened?)
Ask the children, “What do you think happens if you bring a team of cups together? Can they carry the load of YOU?”

Getting children Ready for Prayer:
Introducing Prayer to children can be challenging, but interestingly enough they enjoy them by utilizing upbeat short prayers which are fun. There are many short prayers which have used with my class. The first challenge is to get them quiet and ready for prayer. I begin by singing this with my class to prepare them for prayer.
Are you ready (to the tune of “Frère Jacques”):
Are you ready,
Are you ready,
Fold your hands,
Quiet please,
Show me that your ready...
